Paul John Harenski was born on November 1, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024. He was born to parents John Harry Harenski and Louise Marie Harenski along with his brother Jack in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Herminie, Pennsylvania. He attended Sewickley Township Elementary and High School where he played football and made many lifelong friends, and later attended California State Teachers College in Pennsylvania where he earned degrees in Biology and History graduating in 1958. He later received his master’s degree from USC.

Paul married his high school sweetheart June on February 15, 1958. They were married for 66 years. Paul taught at Norwin High School in Pennsylvania for one year teaching Biology. A friend talked him into moving to California where he was employed by Torrance Unified School District for 40 years, as a teacher and principal. He retired in 1998. During those years he made lifelong friends whom he loved very much.

Paul and June had three daughters, Karin, Paula, and Patrice. The family lived in Lakewood, California for 44 years where they attended St. Pancratius Church, and he was a Eucharistic Minister. He loved to fish and was an avid golfer. He never missed watching the Steelers football games and golf tournaments. He took his family on many camping trips.

Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed planning many picnics with friends and family. In later years, Paul and June traveled extensively through the United States and Europe.

Paul is survived by his wife June, his daughter Karin and her children Sydney and Drew, his daughter Paula and her husband Mike and their children Keila and Josh and his daughter Patrice and her husband Morgan, along with their sons Morgan and Connor. He was very proud of his daughters and grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Los Alamitos, on August 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life at Old Ranch Country Club immediately following.
