Alfonso (Al) Jose Trujillo 91, of Lakewood California, passed away on June 18, 2022. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family members.

Alfonso was born in Llano, Taos County, New Mexico on October 12, 1930. He was raised there and attended elementary and high school in nearby Penasco, New Mexico. He graduated from Penasco High school in 1950. During his high school years he drove the school bus each day to help earn money to support his family.

After high school he went to Colorado, Utah and Montana to work in the mining industry until he was drafted by the United States Army in 1952. He served overseas in Germany in the 5 th Army Infantry Division until being honorably discharged in 1955.

In 1956, Alfonso traveled to California to work at the Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica. He worked for 35 years at Douglas – McDonnell Douglas as a Structural Mechanic, Draftsman, Planning Specialist and a Manager in Assembly Planning, until his retirement in 1992.

Alfonso purchased a home in Lakewood California in 1962, He married Jewell Love in 1969 and they lived there happily the rest of his life. Alfonso was a proud member of the St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Lakewood for 40 years and an usher for 15 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother Margarita Trujillo, father Amador Trujillo, sister’s Evelyn Gonzalez, Priscilla Sanchez, and Bernadette Lopez.  He is survived by his wife Jewell Trujillo, son Dennis Trujillo and his wife Adeline Trujillo. Daughter Donna Browder, grandchildren Madeline Trujillo, Michaela Trujillo, Brandy Browder, Breanna Obregon and Veronica Lopez, Great grandchildren Sienna Obregon, Ashlynn Monzon, Aiden Obregon and Elijah Lopez. He is also survived by his three brothers, Elmer Trujillo of Leadville, Colorado, Albert Lee Trujillo of Mission Viejo California, and Manuel Trujillo of Victorville, California.

He is also survived by his four sisters, Stella Padilla of Grants, New Mexico, Faustina Trujillo of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Norma Apodaca of Stanton, California and Florie Lindsay of Cerritos, California.
