Arlene "B" Calvert Morgan, 85, of Taylor, died Monday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, James Vaughan "Mike" Morgan, died in 1996.She was born in Moosic on February 23, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Beaulah Smerdon Calvert. She just celebrated her 85th birthday with a family dinner at Amadeos.She was a graduate of Moosic High School, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Taylor, where she served on the Administrative Board, was a member of the Taylor Senior Citizens and was active in local politics. Before retiring, Arlene was supervisor at Hillcrest and HyArt Lamp Factories in Old Forge and Wilkes-Barre.Arlene was the matriarch of her family. She was a kind, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings, Broadway shows, Riverside sporting events and shopping. She always looked forward to hosting her family and friends for the annual Memorial Day Parade. She was a strong and selfless woman who would do anything for anyone and her family was the center of her life.The Morgan family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Mark Lyons, Dr. Glen Digwood and the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their wonderful and compassionate care.Surviving are three sons, J. Vaughan Morgan and his wife, Donna of Moosic; James W. Morgan, Long Beach, Calif.; and Michael C. Morgan and his wife, Linda of Taylor; five grandchildren, Dr. Lisa Antoniacci and her husband, Mike of Moosic; Jessica Paulino and her husband, Ken of Clarks Summit; Michael Morgan of Wallingford; Alison Harchar and her husband, Kevin of Moosic; Holly Morgan of Taylor; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Nico, Luke, Giavona, Dominic, Francesca and Alexa.She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Calvert Jr.The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church, 402 S. Main St., Taylor, with services by Rev. Donald Roberts, pastor. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Taylor. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, and on Friday from 9:30 to 10 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 402 S.
