Charles Mylin Harnish Jr. March 8, 1941 - October 24, 2015 Charles Mylin Harnish Jr. left us to take his spot in Heaven in the early hours of Saturday, October 24, 2015. He fought long and hard and made sure to have special moments, now memories, with each family member in the days prior to his passing. Charles was born in Pennsylvania in 1941. In 1963, he graduated from Niagra University with a B.S. in General Business. A veteran of the US Army, Charles served in Vietnam and Korea, earning multiple medals and accolades along the way. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Charles met and married the love of his life. Major Charles M. Harnish Jr. was honorably discharged and moved on to complete a successful career with Hughes Aircraft Company. During his years of retirement, Charles enjoyed the "simple things" in life - home, family and food. He was quite predictable as his days were routine, appointments carefully scheduled and TV shows meticulously mapped out and or recorded. He loved ice cream and milk but his favorite treat was his bi-weekly chocolate Frosty from Wendy's. He loved animals and believed that all animals loved him (haha). Charles, affectionately known as "Papa," "Chuck," "Dad," "Grandpa," and "Gramps" was truly a family man. He was a provider and a protector. He had strong beliefs, upheld his values and enjoyed traditions - holidays and birthdays alike. He cherished family time together. He loved with all of his heart, in his own way. He was an emotional man who hugged, kissed, cried and laughed. He also yelled, haha. But, we loved him, and will always love him. He made us the family that we are today. His memory and family traditions will live on through his wife Masako, children Charles III & Kimberly, daughter-in-law Cari, grandsons Dion and Donovan, and grand"pups" Sam Jones and Remi.
