Yvonne Claire Wescott

A Joyful Life Well Lived

Yvonne Wescott, born on June 29, 1968 in Los Angeles, California, with Down Syndrome, passed away on August 15, 2024 at the age of 56.

She was the beloved daughter of Richard and Lucy Wescott.

Yvonne attended Millikan High School and California State University at Long Beach, and also found employment at CSULB where she dedicated 29 years of service in their 49er dining halls before retiring in 2019.

Yvonne had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy, including Bingo, Special Olympics, Bowling, Square Dancing, Ribbon Dancing and Bocce.

She was active in the Catholic church attending both St. Maria Goretti and St. Cornelius.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Wescott and his wife Wendy, her nephews Christopher and Jonathan Wescott, and her niece Leanna Wescott, and also her Aunt Simone Chottin, and several aunts, uncles and cousins in Maine.

Yvonne's passing was due to complications from Pneumonia.

Yvonne had a special place in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
