Wilmena Lewanda Allen

Mrs. Wilmena L. Allen passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021 at the age of 97 in Round Rock, Texas. She was born April 8, 1924 in Dongola, Illinois to Roy and Hazel Kohler and at nineteen years old left their farm in Millcreek, IL to work at a munitions plant and then joined the U.S. Marines. Wilmena moved to Long Beach, California late in 1944 and remained there until April 2019 when she relocated to Round Rock, Texas. She was married to Robert Allen (1930 - 2015) and predeceased by her husband and brother Gilbert Kohler. Wilmena was a member of Elks Lodge #888 and served as a volunteer for many years at the Long Beach, California VA Hospital. She enjoyed travel, painting, sewing, beach combing, card games, and nearly any social activity. Most of all, she loved entertaining friends and neighbors. Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Aunt is survived by one son, Dana Tucker, and three stepchildren, Chris Allen, Jeff Allen, and Wendy Farrier, as well as brother Bon Kohler along with four Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
