William "Bill" Nichols

Our Beloved Bill "Nicks" received his Angel Wings to Heaven on Wednesday, November 30th 2022 @ 12:50pm. Bill was born to parents June and Joseph Nichols on October 10th 1940 in Santa Monica, CA. He was the youngest of two boys with his brother Keith being the oldest.

At the young age of 15, Bill developed a deep love of horses,  and at the age of 17 finally had the chance to own his most prized possession, Sonny. He loved that horse so very much and the stories never seemed to end.  The majority of his spare time was spent at the Lakewood Stables where he would train people to ride,  even using Sonny as the training horse.

In 1960, at the ripe old age of 20, Bill decided to follow in his brother Keith's footsteps and joined the United States Navy. He served on the USS Hornet from 1962-1964, where during this time he earned a Good Conduct Medal in 1963. In 1964, he transferred to the Navy Reserve where he would begin his lifelong full time career at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach.  For 35 years he dedicated his life to help build the nation's commercial aircraft.

Bill's love of Boxing in the 1980's, where his favorite boxers to watch were,  Muhammed Ali,  Joe Frazier,  Sugar Ray Leonard,  Thomas Hearns,  and Marvin Hagler was something he always had on when the big fights were broadcast.

Bill was a Husband,  Father,  Grandfather,  Great- Grandfather,  Son,  Brother,  Cousin,  Uncle,  Colleague,  and very most of all,  Everyone's Friend! If anyone was ever in need,  he would always seem to find a way to help. He would reach out to anyone that made eye contact to tell one of his infamous stories.  He was the most Loving,  Compassionate,  Caring,  Fun- Loving man one could ever know and to say that he will be deeply missed,  is an understatement of epic proportions.  Sail easy with your wings of an Angel Dad,  We all LOVE YOU!
