Webster, affectionately known to many as Web, was born at 3:59 P.M. February 22 nd , 1981, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Johnny Bernard Peters and Brenda Peters. He was a kind child that was always eager to learn and was an excellent student. Webster carried this kind intelligence throughout his life and left a legacy of love.
Web married his sweetheart, Doris Hsu Peters, on March 31 st , 2018, and welcomed their daughter, Kara, a little over a year later. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.
Web had an unwavering love of God. Whenever asked how he was, he always replied, “Blessed” and always left everyone with a “Have a blessed day”.
Web was a music teacher and band director at Lennox Middle School for the last eight years and was most recently a coach on the Cerritos High School Football team. He had also coached at Compton, Paramount, Bellflower, and Mayfair High Schools for football and both shotput and discus. He was a dedicated coach and teacher who went above and beyond. He often tutored his athletes to help them succeed on and off the field. He inspired his athletes to do their best and to have a strong character.
Webster’s love of football began by playing flag football in Los Angeles. As the captain of the Bellflower High School football team in 1999 he was honored to wear number 66. He received a scholarship to play football at Chapman University, where he eventually earned his bachelor’s in music education, his teaching credential, and was close to finishing his master’s as well.
Webster’s love of music was fostered by his father, who came from a long line of musicians. Web primarily played the trumpet, but also played many more instruments. In high school he was the drum major. Web was passionate about music education and was creative in finding new ways to help his students grow their love for music and blossom. He also taught math during summer school and was preparing for further math teaching certifications.
He used his passion for cooking to pour out generosity to those that he loved. At the holidays he would make large batches of food and deliver plates to family and friends. He was famous for his BBQ, greens, and gumbo.
