Wayz J. Middough passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016; leaving us to join his "sweet Marlene." Wayz will be missed by his loving family and many, many friends. He was known for his charismatic personality and zest for life. He was an avid snow skier, water skier, boater, loved his fishing trips to Alaska and was an active member of the Long Beach Yacht Club. He grew up in Long Beach, California, attending Lowell, Rogers and Wilson High School. After serving in the Navy, he graduated from Loyola University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Wayz had a successful career as a salesman and executive for Don W. Snyder Co. and Young's Market Co. In 1974, he moved his family to Honolulu, Hawaii to run Better Brands, Ltd. and C&F Products, one of the oldest wholesalers in Hawaii. They enjoyed their five years in Honolulu, but were happy to return to their real "home," Long Beach. He was a wonderful father to Pamela King (Stephen) and Daryn McMains (Kevin) and loving grandfather to Jeffrey King and Jillian Kelly. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Long Beach Yacht Club, 6201 E. Appian Way, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to TREES IN THE BAY, 373 Bay Shore Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90803.
