It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved father and grandfather, Wayne Taylor. Wayne was born in Blackwell, Arkansas on November 14, 1933 to Mary and William Taylor, the youngest of nine children. His family then moved to Visalia County, CA where he attended high school then joined the Air Force to work as an aircraft mechanic. After leaving the military, Wayne studied engineering in Arizona then moved to Los Angeles County where he worked as a mechanic and subsequently owned a Shell service station. During this time he met and married the love of his life, Barbara. They moved to Long Beach and had two daughters, Julie and Diane. Wayne began working for Chevron and eventually retired from there. After the tragic passing of his wife in 1997, Wayne married long time friend, Shirley Cardoza until her passing in 2014. Wayne had a passion for fishing and travelling the United States by RV, and during his life made many cross country ventures. He was strong until the end, when he eventually lost a hard fought battle with cancer. He will be desperately missed.
