June 27, 1944 - June 21, 2015 Wayne Paul McAuley, 70, passed away after a long illness on June 21, 2015, in Westminster, CA. A Huntington Beach, CA resident for 38 years, Wayne was born in Long Beach, CA, on June 27, 1944 to Ralph Howard McAuley and Adell Jane Burnett McAuley. Camire (husband, John), as well as his four children, Josette, Mark Wayne (wife, Marisa), Wayne Alexander, and Megan Sokolic (husband, Ross), and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School, and attended Long Beach City College, CA, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Leeds, England Mission. As an avid outdoorsman, he was very active in Scouting his whole life serving for many years as Scout Master and most recently as a Scout Commissioner on the Orange County BSA Council. He loved hiking and spending time at the beach surfing. Always a hard worker, a short stint of his employment was spent at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, CA and Dole Fruit Co. as a fruit inspector at Long Beach Harbor, CA. He worked most of his life in construction, employed by Raymond Interior where he installed drywall for a time, but for the majority of his employment, he sprayed fireproofing on commercial high-rise buildings. Always a missionary at heart, Wayne spent much of his spare time in recent years helping the young missionaries serving in the Huntington Beach, CA area, while continuing to stay in contact with the English converts from his mission as a youth. As a Home Teacher, he never failed to complete his assignments, even calling his families from his hospital bed. Not afraid of hard work, and possessing a truly caring and unselfish heart, Wayne was always very giving of his time, energy, and means to help his family and many friends and neighbors. He never forgot a holiday or special occasion making sure everyone was made to feel special. On Mother's Day, he shared roses from his garden with neighbors and the women at his church.
