Obituary - Wandajean R. Stegman. Wandajean Stegman, 81, died February 24, 2015 at Long Beach Community Hospital, Long Beach, California. Born July 5, 1933 in Edwards County, Kansas, she was the daughter of Edmund W. and Avanelle (Kurth) Weiss. Wandajean was born and raised on the family farm outside Offerle, Kansas. She attended Spearville High School. In 1950 she married Gerald R. Stegman at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville. She worked as a nurse at the Spearville and Kinsley Hospitals until the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1964. From 1965-1974, Wandajean worked for Hewlett-Packard in Colorado Springs. The family then moved to Orange County, California in 1974. She continued working as a nurse at Los Alamitos Medical Center and subsequently for a urology group from which she retired in 2002. Wandajean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, sister Patricia Gannon, and brother Arthur Weiss. Survivors include three sons, Kenton of Garden Gove, CA, Timothy and Terry (Julia) of Los Alamitos, CA; two daughters, Renee Oxley (John) of Centennial, CO and Michelle Allen (Mark) of Rocklin, CA, and four grandsons, Corey and Joshua Stegman and Brenden and Tyler Allen. The Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, March 2 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Los Alamitos, CA. Burial at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Huntington Beach, CA. Wandajean was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
