Viola D. Hoting

Viola Doris Hoting, 85, of Long Beach, passed away August 28, 2020.  She was born to the late Henry and Ida Tiedje on August 11, 1935 in Gardnerville, NV.  Her family moved to California when she was 14 years old.  Viola graduated from Orange High School in 1953.  She worked in the banking industry after graduating, but spent most of her career working as an escrow secretary.  She was married to the late Robert Hoting in 1963.  Viola is survived by two children:  Rick Hoting, of Huntington Beach, and Susan Reddick, of Redlands.  She also is survived by three grandchildren:  Scott, Logan, and Chelsea Reddick, and by her twin sister Esther Prowatzke, of Waukesha, WI.

Viola was dedicated to her family and immensely enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a talented cross-stitcher and enjoyed sharing her passion with her grandchildren.  Viola leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 22 at 1:00 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Long Beach, her church home for more than 50 years.  Any donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 4644 Clark Ave., Long Beach, CA 90808.
