Vicky Inez Sobschak, 60, unexpectedly passed on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Long Beach Memorial Hospital due to heart failure. She was born June 10, 1959, to Roberto and Elizabeth Cuevas. She graduated from Kennedy High School, received her BA from CSU Fullerton, her Master’s of Public Health from UCLA, and was also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. Vicky was a dedicated health-care professional, working for Health Net, Universal, and Molina health-care companies. Her most recent positions were Director of Quality Improvement at WellCare Health Plans, Inc. and an independent consultant - NCQA surveyor. She married Adolf Sobschak on September 3, 2005, in Long Beach, California. One of her many hobbies included a love of travel. She bicycled throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia. Vicky loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed music, theatre, PBS programs, and she delighted in taking care of her dogs. Vicky was preceded in death by her father Roberto and her brother Ray. She is survived by her husband Adolf, her step-sons Brett and Daniel, her step-daughter Rocio, her step-grandchildren Kristen and Owen, her mother Elizabeth, her brothers Alex and Robert, her sisters-in-law Lynne in Ohio and Ursula in Canada, and her many friends and extended family members who love her and will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life service for Vicky will be held in September. More details regarding the service will be updated on this site when available. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following organizations: Food Finders or Feeding America.
