Tim died unexpectedly on May 21, 2022. He was born at Lakewood General Hospital on 9-6-1968 to proud parents, Michael and Susan Miller. Predeceased by grandparents Eugene and Marie Miller and Frank and Roberta Hammond; and adopted California grandmother Lindy Benson, and aunt Ann Marie Miller Hood.
Survived by parents Michael and Susan Miller; sisters Julie Harrison, Michelle Miller, Denise Miller-Turrubiartes; brother-in-law Fernando Turrubiartes; nephew Aaron and niece Ashlee Harrison; Fiancée Missy Mitchell; stepdaughters Megan, Melody, and Misty Ackroyd; uncles Dwight Craft, George Hood, and Al Frisillo; aunts Joellen Frisillo, Martha Miller, and Ruth Miller; and cousins Brett Gutting, Nathan Miller, and Jessica Smith.
Tim graduated from Patrick Henry Elementary, John Marshall Jr. High, St. John Bosco High School (1986), and Cal Poly State University Pomona with a BS in Business Administration with a major in Management and Human Resources (1992). He was a life member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Eta Sigma Chapter. His company, Environmental Air Services, held a State of California Contractor’s C-20 license.
Tim was active in sports starting at a young age and continuing in his adult life at third base, catcher, and goalie positions. He played for Plaza Little League, CSL Travel Soccer, St. John Bosco High School varsity soccer and water polo where he earned his letterman jacket, Cal Poly State University varsity soccer, and various adult soccer and baseball leagues. He recently also started playing golf and would team up with his Brother-in-law Fernando Turrubiartes when they could get a tee time. He and Missy were season ticket holders for the Los Angeles Galaxy Soccer team.
Tim was hard working and industrious from an early age. When he was younger he collected aluminum cans and delivered the Penny Saver paper. During his high school years worked at the Shell station, Lucky’s Market, and McDonalds. He also coached soccer for Glendora High during his college years.
Tim loved his VW van that he used on many camping trips. He was heartbroken when it was stolen and never recovered. He also loved his Vespa scooters for transportation.
Tim worked over 30 years in the heating and air conditioning industry. He initially started at Irvine Valley Heating and Air Conditioning and eventually at Environmental Air Services, his own company. He was Mr. Fix-It with his many natural talents serving many satisfied customers over the years.
Family was important to Tim. There were many memorable times, some laughable as well as serious moments during his life growing up. This was especially true on various family vacation travel and camping trips as well as family gatherings.
On one family vacation trip, there were several events that could have had fatal results for Tim when he had a possible concussion and also when he fell out of the car backseat.
Tim and Missy Mitchell met on the job at the North Bound facility about 10 years ago and started dating. They became a couple and soulmates as things grew more serious. Tim also eventually became a loving step father to Missy’s one teenage and two adult daughters: Megan, Melody, and Misty Ackroyd. They were planning a secret wedding this July 12 with a reception celebration later at their home.
When Tim was working on a job or doing an estimate in his parent’s area in Long Beach, he would stop by their house to visit and say hello. The routine was to go through the kitchen and get the jar of peanuts and/or can of Pringles on top of the refrigerator and go into the living room to sit on the couch to visit and relax.
About a month ago after Tim had finished playing golf early, when he called and asked his parents Mike and Susie if they wanted to go out to breakfast. They had breakfast at the El Dorado Park Golf Course Restaurant. Tim ordered his favorite breakfast of eggs benedict with a side of pancakes and turkey sausage. This was the first time his parents had eaten out in two years and now makes this a most memorable occasion. They are really glad they went to breakfast with Tim that morning.
For Mother’s day, the family got together at his sister Julie’s house. Tim had generously came over earlier to do some minor repairs for Julie. Little did the family realize this would be the last Mother’s Day Tim would be giving Susie a flower arrangement and a gift. This was the last family gathering Tim would be attending.
Tim was a devoted animal lover for the many pets he had over the years. His many pets included a long surviving large carnival gold fish, dogs Taz and Mystic, and the yellow naped parrot Tinker. However, he leaves behind Bud his latest friend, who just doesn’t understand why Tim is not there with him.
Tim was proud of his accomplishments over the years including having a college degree, a successful business, a C-20 Contractor’s license, a 15 year sobriety chip, and a successful personal relationship with his soulmate and fiancée Missy Mitchell.
Tim will be missed but never forgotten by everyone who knew and loved him. His talents, work ethics, and generosity for his many satisfied customers will be difficult and probably impossible to match. His warm smile and generosity in assisting many people will be missed by the many people who knew Tim over the years through his many family, personal, business, sports, and sobriety relationships.
You were gone too soon Tim. However, God needed you. Good Bye until we see you on the other side.
