It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas “Tom” Robert Richardson on May 13, 2021 after a long, hard-fought battle with liver and kidney disease. He is survived by his wife of 39+ years Christine “Tina” Richardson, his children--Dominique, Christopher, and Alexandria--, his two granddaughters, one future grandbaby coming soon, and by his sister, L. Diane. Tom was born March 14, 1956, Pi Day as he liked to celebrate it, to parents Robert “Bob” Browning Richardson and Margarita de la Rosa Richardson. Tom loved tinkering and building from a young age. And after attaining his Associate Arts at East Los Angeles Community College, he began his career as an Electrical Engineer, designing computer microchips. Tom was very good at his job and prided himself on applying his engineering skills to every facet of life, from Boy Scout pinewood derby cars, to redesigning toys for his kids and grandkids, to expertly packing the car for family vacations. Tom graduated from CSULB in 1995 and continued to work as an Engineer until retiring in 2019. Tom loved God, spending time with his family and good friends, Sci-Fi shows, spoiling his grandkids, trips to beaches in Hawaii, visiting family & the redwoods in Crescent City, making wine in Paso Robles, and cooking for his loved ones. Tom always told his children “If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right,” and he lived as an example of his word.
