Thomas William Mayo Profile Photo

Tom and Teresa Mayo landed on Stearns Street in 1964 and made a life so full it would stretch all the way to the moon and back again.

Born in California in 1925, Tom served his country and later flew several missions in the Pacific Theater during World War 2, providing crucial air support to the American victory. And with Teresa at his side for almost 70 years, Tom's peacetime mission was to get people where they needed to go.

Tom worked with the Space Shuttle Inspection Team for Nasa at Rockwell where they built the nose and tail sections of all 5 space shuttles. He was also part of the first group of neighbors who went through Community Emergency Response Training.

Tom, a dedicated volunteer, who also worked with the Boy Scouts, took his five kids National Park camping for 2 weeks every year.

I like to thing that out in the wilderness they navigated by the stars.

They will always be our stars.

We love and cherish you always, Mom and Dad.
