Thomas Robert Giles

Tom Giles, 79, died on August 28th at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California. Tom was born on April 7th, 1944 in Pontiac Michigan. He was the son of Louise and Frederick Giles and was raised in Birmingham Michigan.

After graduating from Seaholm High School in 1962, Tom continued hiseducation in mechanics. In July of 1966, he was drafted by the United
States Army. He served in Germany as a mechanical engineer. After his service overseas, Tom returned to Michigan where he began his career as a machinist. In the early 1970’s, his career brought him out west to California.

In 1977, Tom married and would go on to become a devoted father to three children. Throughout his life, Tom was very charitable and committed to his faith attending Mass regularly. He enjoyed many hobbies including recreational firearms, target shooting, panning for gold, collecting coins,
and generally enjoyed the outdoors. Above all else, he enjoyed being a father to his children.

He is survived by his two brothers Fred and Greg Giles as well as his three children Tim, Robert and Jessica Giles. He was the proud Grandfather to Geovanni Giles, and Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a dear friend to many, many more.
