Teresa Maria Florez

Teresa M Florez was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 13, 1963, the Glorious Saturday before Easter. She was raised in Long Beach, CA and settled in Lakewood, CA when her children were born. She took great pride in the amazing adults she raised, Amanda Slater Tirre and Christopher (Emily) Higgins. She is also survived by her grandson Ender Tirre, sisters Frances Florez and Rebecca (Paul) Flint, her Godchildren Samantha Gutierrez, Nicholas Gutierrez, Mariah Zamora (Lara), Elizabeth (Chad) Murdock, Giselle Flint and Candice Flint along with many cousins and friends that were family. Her parents Armando and Priscilla Florez were waiting to receive her in paradise. Teresa fought the good fight since 2019 when sickness took over her body. Even when she was physically weakened she never lost her sense of humor or style. Teresa gained her heavenly angel wings unexpectedly on February 16, 2022 with her children by her side, along with her favorite cousin praying over her. She was always there for anyone who needed help or just a home cooked meal. She will always be remembered for her amazing cooking, her caring ways and how she was there for everyone every time. She never had to be asked to help or jump in, she just did it.  Teresa prided herself in always being independent, and was strong to a fault. She retired after over 25 years from Dow Chemical. She loved to travel the world and was always on some great adventure. Teresa’s greatest blessing and the name she loved most was Nona. Her grandson was her everything.  She was also the best Godmother and ‘Nina Candy’ you could ever ask for.
