Steven Lee Glavinich, 81, of Cerritos, Calif., passed away at home following a long illness on September 24, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Carole; a brother, Dennis; a sister, Nicki; and a number of cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving son, Steven; his parents, Nick and Ivy Glavinich; and his sister, Carol.

Steve was born on October 14, 1943, in South Gate, Calif. He graduated from Mayfair High School and attended Long Beach City College. He married Carole Artinian on April 11, 1964, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together. He worked in retail and business for most of his life, and he retired after 13 years with the Teamsters’ Union.

Steve’s hobbies included golfing, fixing things around the house and helping others do the same, from simple repairs to home additions. He loved playing poker; he was known to spend all night at a poker table! He was also a faithful and active parishioner of St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Long Beach, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Holy Name Society, where he served as president for several years. While there, Steve started bus trips to the casinos (the seniors’ favorite!), helped with St. Cyprian’s Community Fest, and was on the Coffee and Donut Team. He was always there to help cook and clean up for the church’s brunches, holiday meals, casino nights and other special events.

Mass will be held on October 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4714 Clark Ave., Long Beach, Calif., 90708. His final resting place will be at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.
