Stella Fae Hughes

On April 1, 2021, Stella Fae Hughes, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 96. Fae, as she was known, was one of twelve born to Richard and Stella Goodey. She was born on February 22, 1925. As an 18-year-old young woman she moved to Long Beach, California. On March 22, 1950, she married William Linwood Hughes, Jr. They raised three daughters, Debra, Claudia, and Janet, and a son William.

Fae was an exceptionally independent woman. After the passing of her husband, she lived as a widow for over 33 years. She is best known as the loving matriarch of the family, and as “Nan” to her grandchildren for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time and playing games with her friends, her four children, and her grandchildren. At the time of her death she had 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is survived by her daughters Debra, Claudia, Janet, and son William.

Private graveside services will be held on May 14, 2021 for family members at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress, California.
