Socorro C. Vazquez was born December 5, 1926 and passed away on June 18, 2016.
She was born and raised in Long Beach, California.
She met and married her husband Joseph J. Vazquez in 1948.
They were married 56 years until his passing in April of 2004.
She then sold her home and moved to Nevada to live with her son Timothy.
She lived there for 10 years.
Recently she moved back to California to live with her daughter Christine and be closer to her family and friends.
Socorro passed away at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her 3 siblings; sister Mercy Matthys, & her husband Roy, brothers: Pete Castillo & Tony Castillo and his wife Lois and 5 children and their spouses; daughter Christine Fudge & husband John, sons: Joseph & his wife Dorothy, Michael & his wife Debbie, Timothy & his wife Lorraine & Patrick & his wife Jeanette. She had 29 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, one on the way and many nieces and nephews And her beloved Chihuahua, Molly.
Socorro also worked for McDonnell Douglas for 35 years in the piping/tubing department.
In her free time she enjoyed traveling, dining out, reading, visiting the casinos, visiting family and friends, watching game shows, various new stations, Judge Judy, golf and baseball.
Her life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service on Friday, July 8th at 11:00am. Services will be followed by a reception at the mortuary.
