Shirley Jean Davis

In loving memory of Shirley Jean Howard Sweet Davis. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, Great Shirley and friend.

Born May 17, 1934, she entered Eternal Life on October 12,2019.

Shirley was born in Ashland, Wisconsin, the 4th of 5 children to Leslie and Margaret Howard. After graduating from Ashland High School in 1952, she joined the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Long Beach, California, she met Robert Sweet and they married in 1953 and soon purchased what would become Shirley’s forever home in Lakewood, California. Shirley and Robert had 2 daughters, Leslee and Barbara. Robert was killed while on duty with the Los Angeles Police Department in 1959.

Many years later, Shirley met Marvin Davis and they married in 1969. Shirley and Marvin had 2 daughters, Terrie and Stacy. Marvin sadly passed away in 2013.

Shirley was loving, kind, fiercely independent and very spunky. She was an avid bowler. She loved playing games, watching and playing sports and many outdoor activities. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Les, her sister Marion, her husbands Robert and Marvin and other family and friends.

She is survived by her brother Bob, sister Gerrie, 4 daughters and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren (who all loved their Great Shirley).
