Sheryl Ann Howland

Sheryl was born in Bellflower CA, the middle child of three girls. She is survived by her mother, Irene, younger sister, Donna.

Sheryl met her husband, Paul while they both attended Cerritos Community College. They were married on February 1, 1976. They have three children together, Brian, Jonathan, and Laura. They have two grandchildren, Austin and Sienna.

Sheryl began her 50-year nursing career as a Nurses Aid while still in high school. After graduating Nursing School, she worked at Long Beach Memorial-Miller Children’s Hospital, Long Beach Community Hospital and Olympia Hospital when she retired as the Chief Nursing Officer.

While working full time, Sheryl went back to school to get a bachelor’s degree and then a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education.

Sheryl hired on to Los Angeles City College as a Professor in the nursing program. She was well loved and respected by all the staff and the students that she helped to graduate.

She also taught Vocational Nursing classes at Concorde Career College.
