Sherry Jean Patrick

Sherry Jean Patrick (Felt), 83, of Lakewood California, passed away on November 20 ^th , 2021, of complications from resulting from Covid 19.

Sherry was born in St. Joseph Missouri on March 19, 1938. She graduated from Phineas Banning High School in Wilmington, California in 1956 and continued her education and training as a secretary excelling in typing and shorthand.

Sherry was married to Richard Patrick on March 15, 1958; they were married for 63 years. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on December 9, 1966.

Sherry loved being around children. For years she ran a daycare out of her home, but for most of her adulthood, she worked for numerous school districts in Ohio and California as a secretary for over 40 years. Besides playing water volleyball at the YMCA, camping, and rafting with her grandkids, and making projects with her weekly sewing club, Sherry enjoyed being involved in school PTA projects and serving in various callings for the church. When she was not with her family you could find her with the youth, single adults, Sunbeams, Activity Day Girls or at Girl’s Camp. She also loved being a Ward Missionary. She had an extraordinarily strong testimony and was a living example of Christ-like charity.

Sherry was a devoted mother and grandmother. She treasured each one of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality, always wore a smile, freely gave hugs, and made the people around her laugh. Sherry made friends everywhere she went and touched the lives of all who knew her. She made the kids’ friends feel at home and they called her “mom” or “grandma” too.

Sherry is survived by her Brother Larry Felt of Utah, Son-in-Law Gordon Bell of  Montana, Son Brian Patrick and wife Theany of Hawaii, Son Troy Patrick and wife Jill of Utah, Son Daniel Patrick and wife Regina of Utah, Son Glen Patrick and wife Julie of Utah, Daughter Alicia Wright (Patrick) and husband Terry of California, Daughter Rose Henson (Payne) and husband Mike of Oklahoma, Son Kelly Patrick, Daughter Laurie Merrill, and Son Larry McCune of Oklahoma, and over 40 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way) and one great-great grandchild. It would take pages to name each one, but she loved & adored them all!

Sherry is preceded in death by Husband Richard Patrick, Daughter Teresa Bell (Patrick), Brother Jim Felt, Brother Joe Felt, Brother Michael Bloomfield, Sister Patricia Root (Felt) and Grandson Erik Patrick.

The family of Sherry Jean Patrick thanks her many friends in the Lakewood 4 ^th Ward and all her supporting friends that have been by her side for the last 32 years.

A Remembrance Service will be held in Southern California for Richard and Sherry Patrick in February of 2022 for friends and family. A private family memorial will be held this summer in Idaho.
