Seraphino Peter Tisei was born in Boston, Massachusetts, ninety-nine and a half years ago. He was the youngest of four children, born to Pietro and Maria Tisei. He attended Boston public schools and served as a cartographer in the US Army Air Force during World War II. Peter met his wife Jean on a troop train and married 6 months later in 1943. They married and settled in Oklahoma City during the war and later moved to Boston. Maria, their first child, was born in Oklahoma. After relocating to Boston, Elizabeth was born. They moved to California in 1952, eventually settling in Long Beach. Lucia, Peter, Anne, Charlotte, and Canice were born in the Long Beach area. Peter and Jean were married for 66 years. Peter worked as a photographer and in aerospace until he retired at the age of 78. He learned to cook minestrone and chicken soup in his retirement. He loved his cats, cars and collecting garage sale treasures. More than anything else, Peter loved a bargain. Some of his true pleasures included music, traveling to Boston and Italy (nine times) and visiting national parks. He enjoyed large family dinners with never-ending plates of spaghettis and green salad soaked in vinegar. Peter and Jean were members of Our Lady of Refuge, St. Joseph and St. Cornelius parishes. He is survived by his beloved cat Angelo, his children and their spouses, Robert Casper, Bill Nash, Bob Parmenter, Laureen Tisei, Steve Liebeck, and Brad Liebeck. His grandchildren, Colin, Robert, Ian, Rachel, Alice, William, Caroline, Mark, Michael, and great grandson Nathaniel . Amanda, Chris and Lisa Liebeck also survive him. His wife, Jean, preceded him in death.
