Sayre L Delaney

Sayre Louise Delaney (Post), cherished aunt, sister and friend, was born on September 28, 1953, in Aurora, Nebraska.

Sayre lost her courageous battle with cancer on July 18, 2025.

Sayre’s parents, Vera and Keith Post, and brother Michael, moved to Lakewood, California when she was 3 years old.

She lived a life marked by strength and deeply loved her family and friends. She touched many lives with her sense of humor and quiet resilience. We are all fortunate to have known her.

She is survived by her partner, Bob Johnson, brother, Michael (Michele), niece Wendie Post Millsap (Tom), nephews Ed Post (Dedra), Chris Post (Daniela), grand nieces McKenna Helander, Alexandra Millsap, Sabrina Post, grand nephew Conrad Post, and much adored great grandnephew Jameson Knapp.

She is also survived by her dog, Missy. Sayre loved and cherished animals, especially horses. Truth be told she liked animals more than humans.

Sayre made her home in Long Beach, California where she cultivated lasting friendships and memories.

In addition to relatives, Sayre had a lifelong friendship with Judy Durham Davis.

Her love lives in the hearts of those who loved her.

We take comfort knowing that Sayre is reunited with her parents, Vera and Keith Post; family members, friends and her animals who have passed prior.

A private Celebration of Life will be held September 28th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a local animal rescue or the Humane Society.
