Samuel Richard Mayberry

Samuel Richard Mayberry passed away on October 15, 2023 in Long Beach, CA after a long illness. His celebration of life will be on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Forest Lawn Cypress with a small gathering for family and friends afterwards.
Born on September 1, 1966 to Samuel J. and Betty in Torrance, CA, Sam grew up in the Long Beach and Lakewood area and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1984. As a child, he loved music – hard rock, particularly the band Kiss – and playing drums. He went on to perform in bands, including Roxxn.
As a young adult, he worked at Music Plus with friends, and then built his career in sales. He loved getting to know people, playing golf, sharing his love of music, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by four siblings, his wife, and three children. He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Betty. We will all remember him for his sense of humor, thoughtful and loving text messages and phone calls, and his affinity for ice cold Coca Cola.
