It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Rudy Rosier, a loving husband,
father, grandfather, uncle, teacher, and dear friend to so many. He died on April 15th, at Los
Alamitos Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, who cherished, respected and admired him for
his kindness, charm and sense of humor.

Rudy was born on January 29th, 1936, in the city of Bandung, Indonesia. In 1948, his family
emigrated to Holland, and lived in The Hague. Rudy enrolled in trade school to become a baker
in 1953, and shortly there after he began his career, he then served in the Royal Dutch Navy
from 1956-1959.

In 1954 Rudy met the love of his live, Ineke Pauline Koster and they married in 1960. Then in
1961 they immigrated to the United States, and made Long Beach, California their home.

Rudy worked for 5 years as a baker at Fritz Nickel’s Pastry Shop, before purchasing his own
shop, Isom’s Bakery in North Long Beach. Then in 1977 he sold his bakery and then began his
second profession, which he was born to do…teach. He was a Master Pastry Chef and
instructed at Cerritos College Culinary Arts program for 16 years. He took early retirement to
pursue work in the private sector, where he went on to consultant, baking again, and finally
finishing his career as an instructor at the Arts Institute in Santa Monica.

Rudy loved to entertain, cooking, make pastries and bake for friends, relatives, and the church,
he always was giving in this way.

Rudy was married to Ineke for 63+ years. They have two children, Ryan and Jason.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Ineke; his 2 sons Ryan and Jason; his daughter in law, Tricia and
his granddaughter Madisyn; along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death
by his parents, Gilles and Dollie Rosier; as well as his 3 siblings; Dolf, Loekie and Jack.

Rudy will be remembered with a Celebration of Life on June 15th, at 2pm at Grace First
Presbyterian Church, 3955 Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90808
