Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Miller

Ronald "Ron" Miller began his journey on June 20, 1968, and lived a full and adventurous life until he was called home on June 13, 2026.

Ron was born in Long Beach, California, to Robert and Rose Miller. He spent most of his life in the Lakewood Village community he proudly called home. He attended Mark Twain Elementary School, Hoover Junior High School, and Lakewood High School, graduating in 1986.

From an early age, Ron displayed the traits that would define him throughout his life—stubborn determination, fierce independence, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting. It quickly became clear that college was not the path for him. Ron was eager to get out into the world and embrace adventure wherever it led.

He loved the outdoors and the freedom it offered. Whether off-roading, spending time at the river, exploring the desert, or cruising the open road, Ron was happiest when he was on the move. Though rough around the edges, he possessed a warm and generous heart. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he had a unique ability to make those around him laugh.

A natural mechanic, Ron's talent revealed itself early in life. From building with Tinker Toys as a child to working on diesel engines as an adult, he could fix, build, or improve just about anything. His passion for motorcycles began at a young age and eventually became his life's purpose. Ron loved building Harleys from the frame up, pouring his skill, creativity, and heart into every detail. Each motorcycle carried a little piece of his DNA and the love he had for his craft.

As much as he loved motorcycles, Ron's greatest treasures were the friendships he built throughout his life. He shared unique and meaningful relationships with each of his friends, creating countless stories, adventures, and memories along the way. His loyalty was unwavering, and the mark he left on their hearts will never fade.

Ron deeply loved his family and was deeply loved in return.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Miller, and his brother, Robert Miller.

He is survived by his father, Robert "Bob" Miller; his sister, Raquel "Rocky" Vernola, and her husband, Thomas Vernola; his sister-in-law, Kelli Miller, widow of Robert Miller; his nephews, Jonathan Miller, Ryan Vernola, and Nickolaus Vernola; his nieces, Megan Vernola and Alexandria Goodwin-Howell; and his great-nephew, Gunner. He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles.

Finally, Ron is survived by the many "brothers from other mothers" who were family in every sense of the word and who will always consider Ron their brother.

Ron lived life on his own terms, with grit, passion, loyalty, and an adventurous spirit. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his humor, his friendships, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

May God’s grace and peace surround all who mourn Ron’s passing. We take comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed into his heavenly home by his mom and his brother. May the Lord bless and keep him, and may His love bring strength, comfort, and hope to all who knew and loved him. Until we meet again, may “Ronnie” rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
