Roisin Mary Naughton

Roisin Naughton died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Nazareth House in San Diego, where she lived for the past eleven years. She was 97 years old. Born Rose Mary O'Connell on January 27, 1921, County Cavan, Ireland, she grew up on the family farm with her brother Daniel and two sisters Maureen and Dympna. She came to this country in 1948 where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Naughton, who preceded her in death. Bob and Roisin were married for 51 years. For all but one of those years they lived in the same house in Long Beach, where they raised five wonderful kids. She is loved and remembered by her children, Mark (Maggie Wang), Maura (Ky Putnam), Catherine (Jeff Stein), Maggie (William) Romero, and Susan (Wayne) Brooks; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and her sister, Dympna Nurre. She will also be missed and remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and the neighborhood kids.
The funeral service will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, May 29, at St. Cornelius Church, 5500 E Wardlow Rd, Long Beach, followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery. There will be a celebration of her life from 12:30-3:30 at Lakewood Country Club, 3101 E Carson St, Lakewood.
