Roger Norman Christensen came into this world on December 4, 1955 and left us much too soon on November 9, 2019, living his entire life as a Long Beach native, the city he loved.
Roger graduated from Millikan High School, worked his way through school with his own lawn mowing service, a newspaper route, and drove delivery for Rexall Drugs while in high school; he worked at Todd Shipyard until it closed as a Heavy Rigger after High School graduation and later at Arco as an Operator. He worked hard his entire life.
Roger was an active outdoorsman, in high school he loved to surf, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America along with the Sea Scouts and became an adult advisor when his son Roger became involved in scouting. Roger loved his family, the Angels Baseball team, the Raiders Football team, the old Lions Drag Strip and good music. Roger could always cook a great meal and enjoy his home that he shared with his wife Linda. He said that as long as he had Linda by his side, he had all that he ever wanted. Roger came from a large family and enjoyed the family meals at his parent’s house when the whole family got together. He was just reminiscing about the times around the family table as some of his best memories of childhood.
Roger is survived by his wife Linda, son Roger, sister Linda (Greg) Graham, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Evelyn Christensen, Brothers Dale (Bob) Christensen, Jr. and Steven Christensen.
