Roberta Rose Sandie Profile Photo
Roberta Rose Gisel was born Sunday, September 7th, 1924 on her mother's 23rd birthday. She was the third, and last, child of Bess Irene and Robert Jacob Gisel in Purcell, Missouri. She had one older sister, Bonnie Jean, and an older brother, Charles Morris. Roberta was a tom boy who would rather be outside than inside - always active. With her family and maternal Grandparents - she moved to Long Beach, California in 1941 - just before World War II started. Roberta met and married on April 26, 1942 - Jack Clayton Sandie - the love of her life. Together they had four surviving children: Carole Jean, Pamela Jane, Robert Jack and Gregory James. All moving to the new city of Lakewood in 1952. Roberta passed away - just like her husband had in 1993 - in that same home. Roberta's life was her husband, children and grandchildren - making sure all were clean, well fed, and happy. She loved Christmas and passed that on to all her children - her house, inside and out, was always fully decorated. She loved big holiday dinners - and always wanted everyone to leave full and happy. She was a true caregiver - happiest when she was doing for others. And all those 'others' will miss her and her care. Roberta is survived by: her four children, five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1-1/2 great, great grandchildren (there is one due in October)! Quite a legacy for her and Jack to leave behind. Rest, in peace, you sure deserve it!
