Roberta Egle, daughter of Ben and Verda (Willis) Egle, passed away at her care home in Long Beach, CA. One of her earliest memories as a preschooler in Hamlet, Nebraska, was going to church with mom and dad and hearing the song "In The Garden." She understood the words and she was walking in the Garden and Jesus was holding her hand. It was real to her. She went to kindergarten in Denver, Colorado. She started 1st grade at Hamlet, Nebraska, in a one room school house. She finished 1st grade in Palisade, NE. She graduated from Palisade and went to work for the local telephone company right away. It was during the Depression and it was good to have a job. During World War II she moved to Long Beach, California and resumed her telephone career, retiring in 1983. She went to Long Beach City College taking Interior Design. She became a born again Christian at a Billy Graham crusade at the Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vivian; and brothers, Gerald and Arnold. She is survived by one brother, Willis (Tog); nieces; five great nieces; five nephews; six great nephews; two great-great nieces; and three great-great nephews.
She attended church at Grace Brethren of Long Beach, California, near her home.
