Robert Edward Stanwood

Robert loved to travel and thought of work as a means to go places to see historical sites and experience other cultures. This probably explains why he had so many different jobs and careers throughout his life like food prep, sales man, delivery man, and his two longest held professions realtor and financial planner. These jobs allowed him to travel around the world with his family including some of his favorite places; King's Canyon, New Orleans, Thailand, England, Italy, and France.

Robert loved his family and friends. He was always open and caring to the people he met and showed he cared through words and deeds. Opening his home, helping with taxes, handyman projects, and cooking for church events, including a missions trip to France to prepare meals in multiple kitchens at the same time, are all examples of his caring spirit.

Robert is survived by his loving parents Jay and Lorraine, his mother-in-law Jackie Spohr, and his two children Aaron with his wife Nancy and Amanda with her husband Matt, as well as his four grandchildren Kaitlyn, Elijah, Jackson, and Tyler. Also his brothers; Mike with his wife Vickie, Steve with his wife Karen, sisters Linda with her husband Bob, Karen with her husband Brian, sister-in-law Oralynn with her husband Manuel Silva, and girlfriend Linda Hicks.

Services will be as follows:

Sunday August 18th viewing at Long Beach Alliance Church 3331 Palo Verde Ave (near Wardlow Rd) 6 -8pm.

Funeral service Monday August 19th 12:30pm at Long Beach Alliance Church.

Graveside service Harbor Lawn Mt. Olive Cemetery 1625 Gisler Ave, Costa Mesa (off Harbor) 2:30 pm August 19th.

Celebration of Life reception at Long Beach Alliance Church 4 – 6pm Monday August 19th.

All services are casual dress and are open to the public.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Long Beach Alliance church summer camps or missions programs.
