Robert Thomas Lopez was born on May 24th, 1964 to parents Jeanine Morey and Gilbert Lopez. After a year long battle with illness, Robert passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Robert is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Lopez, children Olivia Lopez and Thomas Lopez, mother Jeanine Morey, Sisters Theresa (Dave) Richardson and Bernadette Brockman, and Brothers Lawrence (Michelle Salas) Lopez and Larry Hale. Also survived by his Aunt Mary Anne and Uncle Ralph St. John, and many cousins, In-Laws, Karen and Richard Sharp, David (Lisa) Sharp, Katherine (Michel) Carreon. He was Uncle Rob to Will, Lawrence Jr., Alex, Brandon, Anthony, Hunter, Hannah, Ella, Ally, Lily, Vivi, Amelia, Josiah and he was Great Uncle to Elijah. Preceded in death by his Dad Gilbert, Papa, Nanny, and Uncle Dave.
Robert loved his family above all, and would often talk to friends, co-workers, and family about his day to day interactions with his wife and children, which were the center of his universe. Robert was known by all as a positive, helpful, and charismatic personality. He always knew how to make everyone laugh. He often lent a listening ear if someone needed someone to talk to. He also felt compelled to help others whenever possible. Robert’s smile would illuminate a room, and his laughter will be dearly missed.
Robert took great pride in his long career at the Southern California Edison Company that spanned over 30 years. He had many different roles at his company and was respected by his co-workers as a dedicated employee with a wealth of knowledge in his field. In 1997, Robert was awarded the prestigious J.K.Horton Humanitarian Award by SCE, for his exemplary acts of citizenship.
Robert was known by all as a family man, beloved friend, neighbor, respected co-worker, or simply the life of the party. He will be missed by all who knew him, and his contagious smile, and positive outlook will continue to be an inspiration to all.
