Robert Joseph Hodnett Jr.
November 3, 1947-December 3, 2014
Robert Joseph Hodnett Jr passed away peacefully on December 3, 2014 after a short battle with Leukemia and Carcinoma cancer.
Robert was born on November 3, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island to Robert Hodnett Sr and Joyce Hodnett. He was raised in Rhode Island up until his teenage years and was a graduate of La Salle High School in 1966.
Robert served as a sergeant in the Air Force where he was a medic in the Vietnam war for 3 years. After his discharge from the Air Force, California became his new home. He met his soon to be wife Linda at Charly Brown's restaurant in Long Beach where she was a waitress. He had one child from a previous marriage, Andrea while Linda had two children, David and Rebecca, who quickly became like Bob's own. In 1982, Robert and Linda were married in Providence, Rhode Island. Two years later in 1984 they had a son Jonathan, followed by a girl, Rachael, in 1986.
Robert was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, papa and friend. He was the kind of man that everyone got along with. He was funny, hardworking and talented. There was nothing he loved more than relaxing on his patio or working in the garage on weekends. His sudden passing was a shock to those that loved him, but we are at peace knowing he is back in the arms of his beloved wife.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Hodnett (1993); his father, Robert Hodnett (2001); and his wife, Linda Hodnett (2014). He is survived by his siblings, Jack Hodnett, Daniel Hodnett, Kevin Hodnett, Craig Hodnett and Donna Albrecht; his children, Andrea Malucky, Jonathan Hodnett, Rachael Hodnett, David Pride, and Rebecca Pride; his grandsons, Brandon, Aaron and Ellis Pride, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
