We are very sad to announce the passing of Robert Joe Fields. A loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend.

He was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, served in the Army and ended up in sunny Torrance California. He moved to Long Beach, CA after falling in love with Sandy (Ann) Balint-Fields. Robert (aka Bob, Bobby Joe) worked as a top agent in the Insurance industry for over 40 years.  He loved being out in the desert with the "Fugawees", Offroad racing, helping out at pit stops and just playing in the dirt. Bob had a passion for Deep Sea fishing, wrapping beautiful rods and even made lead weights for the guys on the boats. When he had a good day fishing, the neighbors and family got to eat his homemade fish tacos for dinner. He enjoyed a good game of poker and almost anytime you saw him he had a book in his hand. In recent years, you could find him sitting in the garage ready with dog treats for the neighborhood dogs that walked by.  Every morning he enjoyed his chats with Tootie the tortoise while feeding her a full breakfast of leafy greens.

One of his favorite things was a lunch date with family or friends at Baja Sonora and getting to see  all his Grandkids grow up into the wonderful human beings they are today.

Robert was preceded by his wife Sandy Balint- Fields, his father Robert William Fields, his mother Ruth Ione Joyner Fields

He is Survived by his Sister Anita Brunsman (Jim Brunsman).  His Daughters, Danielle Shinnebarger (Mike Shinnebarger), Margeret Eddy (Brian Eddy), and Janet Fields. His Grandkids, Damion Fields, Kayla Eddy, Karyssa Eddy and Sierra Eddy. His Niece Alisa Vandiver Rawlings (Kirk Rawlings), his Great Niece Josie Rawlings and Great Nephew Kelby Dean Rawlings.
