He is survived by wife, Sue, ; daughter, Debbie Madden; Daughter in Law, Denise Eldridge,; Grandson, Chris Eldridge; and pre-deceased son, Scott Eldridge. Bob was born in Long Beach, graduated from Poly High School, then joined the Air Force. He and Sue were married November 15, 1952. They have done lots of traveling in their 62 years of marriage, which he loved doing. He was proud to be a Long Beach Fireman Engineer at his home away from home, and retired after 30 years. After retirement, he drove for the Port of Long Beach for 17 years. Bob particularly loved working with good friends at the Long Beach Fire Museum, driving old Fire trucks in many parades such as the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade and many other parades; and helping Santa deliver toys to children. He insisted on helping to deliver turkeys to the fire houses at holidays, mostly to the fire boats, meeting up with old and new friends. Bob was also proud to have been a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. We will be having a "Celebration of Life" for Bob, which will be decided where and when after Sue's surgery and healing. We ask in liew of flowers, donations could be made to the Long Beach Firefighters museum at 1445 Peterson Ave., Long Beach 9 0813, or to whatever organization you wish. "We will miss you forever, Hon, but will rejoice when we will all be together again. WE LOVE YOU!
