Peter was born as the sixth child in a loving family. His mother, Eugenia Marciel, had French and Irish heritage, while his father, Richard Martin Dempsey, immigrated from Galway, Ireland. Peter growing up with his siblings, Jean, Margaret Mary ,Jack, Betty, Bill, Bob, and Jim. Peter learned the importance of family and developed strong bonds that lasted throughout his life.

At the young age of 17, Peter served his country with great honor during the Korean War as a member of the Navy from 1947 to 1951. His dedication and bravery exemplified his commitment to protect and serve, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.

It was during his time in the Navy that Peter's path crossed with the love of his life, Ramona Ann Dupont. Ramona, originally from Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, was on vacation, celebrating her graduation from Morehead State College in Hawaii when fate brought them together. Their connection was undeniable, and on November 24, 1951, they embarked on a lifelong journey as they exchanged vows in Honolulu, Hawaii and began their life.

After their wedding, Peter and Ramona settled in San Francisco, where they built the foundation of their family. Peter worked in sales for Prudential and later as a sales contractor in Illinois and LA, affectionately known as the "Tin Man," specialized in home improvement, texture coating, and patios. His dedication and expertise earned him many stories and friends in the industry.

In 1959, Peter made the decision to move their growing family to Peoria, Illinois. They became proud parents to five children: Bradley, Susan, Grant, Brian, and Janice. In 1965, they moved the family across the states to Los Angeles. Peter's love and devotion to his family were unwavering, and his children brought him immeasurable joy. His wife, Mona, was the love of his life, bringing light, love, strength, and miracles.

Peter's love extended beyond his immediate family, as he cherished his five grandchildren: Ryan, Blake, Devin, Lauren, and Chris. Their laughter and presence brought him immense happiness throughout the years. Additionally, Peter was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Matthew, Noah, and Callan.

As we bid farewell to Peter Bernard Dempsey, let us remember the shining moments he shared with us. His love, kindness, and dedication to his family will forever be ingrained in our hearts. May his memory live on, and may we continue to cherish the values he held dear. Peter said if he could do it all again, he would not change a thing. Rest in peace, Peter.
