Pearl Lillian Redding Huntley, 95, died on May 7, 2024 in Norwalk, California.
Pearl was born in Portland, Oregon on June 29, 1928. Pearl grew up in Oregon. After graduating from high school, Pearl modeled in numerous fashions shows in Portland. Pearl was also an avid synchronized swimmer. In 1948 she moved to Long Beach and became a member of the Pacific Coast Club. As a synchronized swimmer she performed in shows throughout the West Coast. In 1951, she won two gold medals (sextet and octet teams) in the U.S. National Championships. In 1994, at 66 years old, Pearl came out of retirement and won another gold medal in synchronized swimming at the World Masters Swimming Championships in Montreal, Canada.
Pearl married Lefford Huntley on May 5, 1951. They raised two sons in southern California where Pearl was a residential realtor. Swimming was her favorite past time.
Surviving family members include her two sons. Steve Huntley (Rhonda) of Alamo, CA. and Richard Huntley (Shevawn) of Mission Viejo, CA. Grandchildren Lauren Fike, Cole Huntley, Mark Huntley, Scott Huntley and Kristen DeNicola and Great Grandchildren Huntley Fike, Carter Fike, Brooke Anne Fike, Maeve Huntley and Mercer Huntley.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lefford Huntley.
