Paul Joseph Burke

Paul Joseph Burke was born July 1, 1957 in Long Beach, California to Paul and Tillie Burke and entered into eternal life May 23, 2017. He was one of seven children and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and later graduated from Millikan High School in 1976. Paul and his wife Laura began dating in 1979 and were married in 1981 at St. Cyprian Church in Long Beach. Together they were blessed with four children Daniel, Emily, Shaun, Joshua and his new son-in-law Derek. They raised their children in Long Beach, Murrieta and now Fallbrook.

Paul began surfing and shaping surfboards so long ago that it seems it was always part of his life. If he wasn't surfing, he loved golfing and cycling. Laura was forever by his side, Paul's biggest fan and encouraging him in whatever adventure he was doing. Among his many adventures, Paul loved camping along the coast, annual family vacations to Bass Lake, his surf trips to Hawaii, Australia, Mexico and Indonesia. He loved and adored his family, working two jobs (Burke Surfboards and Costco) to provide the wonderful life they shared together.

Paul is preceded in death by his brother Tom (2009), survived by his brothers Tim (Stacey), John, Dan (Tina), Mark (Gloria), sister Kathy (Mike) and sister-in-law Debbie. Also many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Paul will be missed dearly, but we know he is playing one last round of golf, one last bike ride and of course, one last "quick" surf! We love you Paul and Dad, we miss you already and are dreaming of you going 100 miles an hour and still loving life to its fullest. Thank you for being such a great example of what a Godly husband, father and man should be. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
