Patrick Charles Peterson

Patrick Charles Peterson, 85, of Seal Beach passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020. He was born March 18, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Long Beach, CA and was a proud member of the 12 year club. During that time, he lettered in track and football. Pat came from a family that excelled in athletics. He received city wide recognition and was quoted from a reporter at the Long Beach Press Telegram, “Pat never played a bad game.” In 1958, Pat married his wife Anita in Long Beach, CA. He served in the army and then attended Fresno State University. He worked in insurance as a medical malpractice adjuster for 35yrs. He was very active and enjoyed bike riding, handball and attained his black belt in Hapkido in his 70s. He was a volunteer all through his life. He was active in his daughter’s school PTAs and sports. He was also an active volunteer in the local community and schools. Pat volunteered for We Care, an organization that helps families that were at risk of loosing their housing, as well as a tutor for the Long Beach Unified School District.

Pat is survived by his wife Anita, daughter Amy, son in-law Craig, and two grandsons Cameron and Kellen. Pat enjoyed being an uncle to over 20 nieces and nephews.
