Patricia Louise Van Ruiten, 89, a resident of Bellflower, passed away peacefully at Artesia Christian Home on September 7, 2015. Pat was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1926. She graduated from St. Anthony High School, Long Beach, CA in 1944. She married the love of her life, John, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Pasadena on February 15, 1947. She worked lovingly and diligently as a mother of three, a foster mother to many and in the family dairy business. In her later career she also worked as a Data Processing Manager. Pat loved traveling with her family and spending quality time with them. She enjoyed carpentry, sewing and making their house into a home by wallpapering, painting and fun craft projects. Pat loved visiting with family and friends and was always up for a card game, especially a game of Skip-Bo. She was very generous with her love and time to others. Pat is lovingly remembered by her husband and partner of 68 years, John; her three children, Michelle Vasiloff, Chris Van Ruiten and Laurie Glenn; her children's spouses, Jim Vasiloff, Sheryl Van Ruiten and Ken Glenn; grandchildren, Eric and Rosanne Vasiloff, Sheraya and Massimo Santella, Julia Vasiloff and Garrett Van Ruiten; sisters, Mary Edge, Peggy Bailey and Kathy Zeiser and numerous special nieces and nephews who new her as Auntie Pat. Pat is predeceased by her father Thomas and mother Letty and her sisters Audrey, Dorothy and Doris and brother Tom. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 5500 E. Wardlow Road, Long Beach, CA 90808 on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10 a.m Interment will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Artesia Christian Home Memory Care Center Building Fund, 11614 183rd St., Artesia, CA 90701.
