Paticia Sue Ashcraft, 86, of R ancho Cucamonga, California passed away on December 2, 2024 due to the complications of a stroke.

Pati Sue was born on September 20, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the only child of Warren and Charlotte Braun. During her early grade school years the family moved to Long Beach California. She attended Lowell Elementary and Rogers Middle School. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in June 1956. She enrolled in college at California State University Long Beach. It was during her time at CSULB that she met Robert “Bob” Holley Ashcraft. Their courtship lasted while they attended college. Bob would complete a Masters of Arts degree and Pati Sue graduated in June 1960 with a Bachelors of Science degree. On August 26 1960 Bob and Pati Sue were married in Lakewood California. They bought a home in the El Dorado Estates area of Long Beach. They both accepted jobs with the Long Beach Unified School System and began careers in education. Pati Sue would teach at Demille, Jefferson and Hill Middle Schools during her tenure as a teacher. She taught Typing, Calligraphy, History, and Civics classes. In July of 1968 Bob and Pati Sue, after meeting with missionaries, were baptized and confirmed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During the beginning of 1969 they found out that Pati Sue was pregnant. On July 26 1969 Bob and Pati Sue were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. On November 18, 1969 they welcomed their son, Drew Holley, into their family. Three years later on August 13, 1972 they had their daughter, Amy Sue. They moved to a bigger house just five houses down the same street.

Pati Sue enjoyed a variety of hobbies that included calligraphy, sewing, playing the cello, and singing in church choirs. She was diligent supporting her kids and grandkids in school and extracurricular activities, She rarely missed a game, performance, or school open house. Sunday dinners around their massive dining room table were a highlight for her. She was an active participant in church responsibilities and always accepted a calling. Her favorites were working with youth of the church.

After retirement she and Bob served missions at The Mormon Handcart Historic Site (Wyoming), Cove Fort (Utah), and Martins Cove (Wyoming). They lived in their motorhome during these missions. After Bob’s passing in 2014, Pati Sue went on a church service mission from July 2015 to December 2016 in Denver Colorado working at an employment resource center.

In 2020 Pati Sue met Chuck Wisdom and on January 30, 2021 they were married. She moved in with him in Rancho Cucamonga, California. They loved each other's company, attending church, watching sports (especially baseball) and associating with friends and family.

Pati Sue is survived by her son, Drew, and daughter, Amy Sue. Daughter in Law- Tiffany. Son in Law- Gian. Grandchildren Rylee(Husband Josue), Cassidy, Cam(Partner Liz), Sabrina(Husband Andrew), Hudson(Wife Kyla), Devyn, Tabitha, Peyton and Charlotte. Great grandchildren Levi, Lucas, and Mila.
