Owen W. Pixler, born December 19, 1943 to Owen Walter Pixler and Beatrice Blanscett Pixler. Owen passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at 71 years of age at the West Anaheim Medical Center due to acute cardiopulmonary arrest. In January, 2014 Owen was diagnosed with lung cancer.Many of you may have known him as "O.P." He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Alexis (Rivera) Pixler; 2 sons; 4 step-daughters; and 9 beautiful grandchildren.In Owen's early years he worked at his father's restaurant where he helped clear and serve tables. In 1963 he graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School, and then in February of 1963 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served faithfully and honorably for nearly 40 years. He retired on his birthday December 19, 2003 as a Chief Warrant Officer (W2). For those who knew "O.P." they would agree with the statement that he had a deep passion for the love and freedom of this country. Owen is an avid supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project. He very much enjoyed socializing with his friends, and was a member to the Buena Park Elks Lodge, American Legion and Moose Lodge. Owen is deeply loved and will be missed by many. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM at The Luyben Dilday Mortuary 5161 E. Arbor Rd. Long Beach, 90808.
