Olivia Jordan Alvillar

Oliva Jordan Alvillar passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, due to complications from epilepsy. She was 17 years old.

Olivia was born on September 20, 2003, in Long Beach, California. Although Olivia was born with many disabilities, she overcame and accomplished so much in her short life. Olivia loved music and dancing and had the privilege of cheering on the Pop Warner Challenger Cheer teams and could outlast anyone on the dance floor at special events.

Olivia loved adventure from swimming with dolphins, skiing the halfpipe at top speed with the Big Bear Adaptive Ski School and riding her adaptive bicycle gifted to her recently from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Olivia was born a princess and had a special love for all Disney princesses. Her frequent visits to Disneyland always brought her joy and excitement, from the moment she arrived until we left. Her favorite was always a meet and greet with Snow White.

Oliva enjoyed school and her friends. She was taught and guided by so many wonderful teachers and aides at Buffum, Kettering, Madison, Stanford, Newcomb and was to graduate from McBride High School this June.

Olivia did not speak but she had an amazing superpower to embrace people with her smile and bring out the good in all people she met. The kindness shown by all who have met Olivia has been astounding and heartfelt.

Olivia is survived by her parents, Marc and April Alvillar, her younger brothers, Marco and Easton, grandparents, Don and Marie Allison and Gloria Alvillar, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10 a.m.at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Long Beach. Burial will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Forest Lawn in Cypress. Her parents ask that in lieu of flowers, donations in Olivia’s memory be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
