Norma Adeline “Addie” (Morgan) Bowman was born on June 4, 1932, daughter of Ches and Grace Morgan, and the youngest of eight children. She married Donald Harrison Bowman, and is the mother of David and Grandmother to Ryan and Jared.
Norma attended high school in Riverside, CA. She met Don and they were married on July 5, 1953 and married for almost 50 years. Norma and Don were confirmed at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in 1966.
Norma took care of her mother for many years until Grace went to live at Southland Lutheran Home. After Grace’s passing Norma missed not going to Southland every day so she continued to volunteered in Activities and that evolved into being employed by Southland for several years thereafter.
Norma thrived on always busy and “on-the-go”. She loved making crafts and centerpieces for church activities. She would stay up into the wee hours of the morning working on a project - cutting and hand-coloring each and every handout for an event. Her pecan and walnut nut-cups were outstanding! And don’t forget the infamous candy bar poster or card that would show up from her on your special occasion. She took so much time customizing each one, shopping at several different stores searching for candy bars for each special friend or family member.
Norma’s family was her top priority and David was her pride and joy. Being the youngest of eight children brought this Aunt countless nieces & nephews who loved their “Aunt Addie”. She spent many many hours on the phone with them. It didn’t matter what time of day or night it was – Aunt Addie was always ready to listen and shed some advice.
Norma is predeceased by her parents, all her brothers and sisters: Warren, Annie, Lee, Homer, Don, Connel and Betty; and her loving husband, Don. She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Denise; their sons Jared and Ryan and his wife, Kara; and the Morgan and Bowman Families who love her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Norma’s honor. The church address is 14515 Blaine Ave, Bellflower CA 90706.
