April 7th, 1920 - January 12th, 2015

Natalitzio Distefano passed away in the loving arms of his children on January 12th. Litzo went to be with his Lord and Savior and entered into His eternal presence. He was a patriotic man and served our country in World War II where he met his beautiful wife Janet (Giovanna). He was also a proud Sicilian who loved playing his mandolins and showed respect to his heritage by being an active member in the Sons of Italy. Anyone who knew Litzo knows that God blessed him with a green-thumb and a flair for cooking. His "Garden of Eaten," was unbelievably lush and he loved to share his bounty with all friends and family. He was also an avid golfer and longtime member of the Lakewood Country Club who impressively shot a 72 on his 70th birthday! Natalitzio was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet of 66 years, and his loving daughter-in-law Willie Distefano. He is survived by his beloved sons, Tony and Leonard (Judy) Distefano; loving daughters, Marianna (Dan) Funk and Joanne (Martin) Luyben; grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, Nina, Nita and Anthony Distefano, David and Jennifer Funk, and Brandon and Aubrey Luyben, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Fina Smith (92), Rose Saitta (90) and Josie Olson (88). The Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cyprian Church.
