Michelle Lynn Marmion

After battling courageously with cancer for two years, Michelle Lynn Marmion passed away on September 9, 2025, at Kaiser Hospital South Bay. On behalf of the family, parents Don and Linda Marmion express their deep sadness over the loss of their beautiful daughter.

Michelle was born March 6, 1966, and raised in Long Beach, where she attended public school in the Los Altos neighborhood and graduated from Milliken. She went on to Cal State Long Beach, acquired a teaching credential, and later earned a master’s degree at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Michelle married in 1997 and gave birth to two beautiful daughters: Kacy in August of 1998, and Amber in October of 2000. Those relationships were the highlight of her life, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their upbringing. The girls were her pride and joy, and she raised them into confident young adults who remained close to her at all times – and were right by her side in her last hours.

Michelle’s many friends will never forget the wonderful smile that brightened every room she walked into, or the positive attitude that she brought to every situation. She loved to laugh and never lost her optimism or her concern for others, even in the face of her illness. We will treasure our memories of Michelle’s kindness and cheerful energy. And when we see a vapor trail across a blue sky, we will know she is making sure from above that we are enjoying life – as she always did and wanted for everyone she knew.

Michelle is survived by her brother Roger (Yolanda), nephew Tyler, nieces Samantha (Kyle) and Sydney (Sean), and grandniece Rogen.

A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held from 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, September 28th at Joe Jost’s in Long Beach.
